Knicks vs Warriors: Unbelievable Game for Stephen Curry, but Knicks get the Win

Wow, what a game. Much needed win for the Knicks but, Stephen Curry was on another level last night. Stephen Curry scored a NBA season high 54 points, which included 11 3-pointers. He was pretty much unstoppable until the last minute of the 4th quarter, thanks to a block by Raymond Felton. Stephen Curry's amazing game wasn't enough to stop the Knicks. After Tuesday, the Warriors were shorthanded without David Lee who was suspended for his participation in the scuffle in Indiana. He was definitely the missing piece last night. New York played great despite Stephen Curry's phenomenal shooting. Carmelo Anthony had 35 points and 8 assist, Tyson Chandler finished with a career high 28 rebounds and 16 points. J.R. Smith had 26 points which includes key shots towards the end of the game to break a few ties. Golden State's turnovers and mistakes allowed New York to take advantage, 109-105. Though Golden State lost, Stephen Curry's shooting performance will go down as one of the greatest in history.

Pacers vs Warriors: Fight for the Win...Literally

Their was a lot of tension toward the end of the game last night between Indiana and Golden State. As the Pacers led the Warriors by 10 points halfway through the 4th quarter, Roy Hibbert and David Lee got into a shoving match. From what I saw, Roy Hibbert ran into David Lee after a missed shot by David West. Apparently David Lee didn't like that little bump and shoved Roy Hibbert back. After a few shoves, both teams get involved and a brawl breaks out. Stephen Curry comes to the defense of teammate David Lee and gets tossed to the floor twice by Roy Hibbert. Eventually both teams are separated. Technical fouls for Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, David West and two for Roy Hibbert gets him ejected. As for the actual game, it was close at the half. Pacers hold on for the win after the altercation, 108-97. David West led his team with 28 points and 7 rebounds, followed by George Hill's, 23 points and 7 assist. Paul George contributed 21 points and 12 rebounds. Danny Granger who is back from is injury, is still struggling a bit, only scored 5 points. As for the Warriors, Stephen Curry scored a season high 38 points. They also shot about 57 percent from the 3 point line, but it wasn't enough. Good game overall, we can all expect some suspensions and fines for the players involved in the altercation.

Milan Fashion Week 2013: DSquared

Now that Fashion Week in Milan, Italy has ended, I would like to highlight my favorite designers of the week. DSquared put on an amazing show. From the runway design to the clothing, it was the complete package. The runway was turned into a forties jazz club and the collection followed the same theme. A combination of forties glamour evening wear to masculine suits. For the evening wear, they were long floor sweeping gowns made in silk accompanied by long coats belted at the waist. Gloves, clutches and lots of jewels complimented the silhouettes. The masculine looks, 3 piece suits, wide legged pants along with chic fedoras. Loved every look, they were classic but modern. Dean and Dan Caten for DSquared exceed my expectations.

Orlando Magic: Orlando Gives Away Another Number

The Magic have yet to retire a jersey and I really don't understand why. They have had some great players in their franchise, Penny Hardaway, Shaquille O'Neal and now Dwight Howard. Not one of their jerseys are retired. For instance, Penny Hardaway wore #1, then Tracy McGrady and a few other players for Orlando. Allegedly Penny Hardaway doesn't qualify to have his number retired, despite the fact that he along with Shaq led the team to the NBA finals in the '94-'95 season. Then the following year he led the team to the Eastern Conference Finals, and that's just a few of his accomplishments during his tenure with the Magic. He apparently didn't have enough loyalty to the team and did not play for them long enough. If Orlando wants longevity, how about Nick Anderson. He was a great player for 10 seasons and wore #25, hasn't been honored either. Now for Dwight Howard, he was the best player for the Magic for 8 seasons and he is the franchise leader in points, rebounds, minutes and blocks. Though he decided not to continue his career with the Magic, he was their superstar. The trend has continued, recently acquired Tobias Harris now wears Dwight's #12. All of these players had a major impact on the team and worked hard. The Magic wants loyalty, well I believe these players deserve respect and should be honored.

Lakers vs Mavericks: Big Win on the Road for the Lakers

The race for the playoffs continues for the Lakers and they are fighting hard. Today they faced off against another team struggling to get into the playoffs, the Dallas Mavericks. It was a great game, each team battled and it was close throughout. With over 16 lead changes and at least 9 ties, it was anyones game. However, the Lakers finished strong with clutch shots and key plays giving LA their 3rd straight win 103-99. Kobe Bryant erupted with 38 points in 38 minutes along with 7 rebounds and 7 assist. Great game for Steve Nash as well he made some big shots, finishing with 20 points and 4 assist. Dwight Howard started off pretty good but got into foul trouble early limiting his minutes, he finished with 9 points and 13 rebounds. As for the Mavericks, this was Dirk Nowitzki's first game back since having knee surgery. He played exceptionally well, with 30 points and 13 rebounds. Vince Carter had 15 points and Elton Brand with 14.
Impressive play by the Lakers who are not giving up in their fight for a playoffs spot. Their challenge continues on monday against the Denver Nuggets.

The new wedge sneaker for women is becoming a big fashion trend. Designers like Giuseppe Zanotti and Isabel Marant have celebrities that are huge fans of the unique sneaker. Nike debut their new Nike Sky High Dunk wedges during fashion week. The sneaker will officially release to the public, March 27th. Available in a range of colors, black/silver, plaid, brown textured croc and more. Each shoe is named after a top fashion city such as the brown textured croc is called Milan and the black and silver, New York. Like the style? I recommend getting a pair.

Dominating Spurs

You rarely see anyone discussing the San Antonio Spurs. Even I neglect to mention what a great team they are. Well after beating the Clippers last night 116-90, they are now 44-12. This is San Antonio's 15th win by at least 20 points. Last night, Tony Parker finished with 31 points, 7 assist and no turnovers. Shooting 58 percent, they led the entire game. The Clippers struggled including Chris Paul who only had 4 points and 3 assist. The Spurs are clearly the most dominating team in the NBA. Not as exciting as maybe Oklahoma City or Miami but they are the best.

Knicks vs Pacers: Knicks Are No-Shows After AllStar Weekend

The Knicks first game after the AllStar break was tonight against the Pacers, which didnt go as planned. The game was a huge disappointment for the Knicks who lost, 125-91. It was a big struggle, no defense, only shooting 33 percent led to a lot of frustration. It only went from bad to worst. Amare Stoudemire received a technical foul, Raymond Felton had a flagrant foul and 2 technicals on JR Smith gets him ejected. As for shooting from 3-point land, the Knicks only made 5 out of 28 attempts. Now for the Pacers this win brings them closer to the number 2 spot in the east, where the Knicks are currently ranked. Indiana dominated the entire game, the largest lead was 39 points. Paul George led his team with 22 points, 8 rebounds and a few assist. David West followed with 18 points and 9 rebounds. Lance Stephenson contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds. I think the Pacers enjoyed giving the Knicks this beating tonight.

Now with the trade deadline less than a day away, will the Knicks make a trade? What do they need to do to make sure that they are ready for the playoffs? I know for a fact that if they continue to play like this, they will definitely drop from that number two spot. Hopefully this game will give them much needed motivation to get back on track.

AllStar Fashion: Favorite look of the weekend

Favorite look of the weekend goes to MVP of the AllStar Game, Chris Paul. I absolutely loved this Pierre Balmain jacket with leather panels along the shoulders. Accompanied by a shirt to match, black pants and red/black retro Jordan's.

AllStar Game 2013

AllStar Weekend had some highs and lows but everyone was looking forward to watch the NBA's best play against each other. The game was definitely the most exciting part of the weekend. We even got to see dunks that surpassed the Slam Dunk contest. For the third time the West defeated the East 143-138. Chris Paul played extremely well, 20 points and 15 assist. Got his team involved as always, creating plays earned him MVP of the evening. Kevin Durant led all players in scoring with 30 which included a few stellar dunks. For the East, Carmelo Anthony led the team with 26 points. Lebron James ended with 19 points but didn't shoot to well in the beginning of the game. One of the most exciting parts of the game was the one on one play between Kobe Bryant and Lebron James. Their has been a lot of discussion about who the better player is and whether the amount of championships you have determines your greatness. In this game, Kobe guarded Lebron during the final minutes blocking a few of his shots putting on a great show. Overall, AllStar Weekend was just ok. I would like to see some changes in how AllStars are chosen and the format of the event. Should fans be continued to vote? We can only wait and see.

AllStar Saturday 2013

The second day of AllStar weekend is normally filled with tons of entertainment and excitement. A nice way to kick off the AllStar game that takes place tonight. Well this year was interesting to say the least. The format was different and the changes didn't make the events better. All around it was a "ok"show but their were a few really great performances and some surprises.

Foot Locker Three-Point Contest

To my surprise Stephen Curry didn't do as well as many predicted, only making 17 shots. Matt Bonner for the west made it to the final round against Kyrie Irving for the east who seem to be making a big name for himself this year. Kyrie wins making 23 shots.

Taco Bell Skills Challenge

The competition against some of the fastest players in the league. Rookie Damian Lillard with the win, who had the two best times of the night.

Sprite Slam Dunk

A chance for players to show off their athleticism and skill in one of the most anticipated events. I haven't had high expectations for the Slam Dunk competition in quite a while. The change in the format this year made the dunk competition more complicated. On the upside participating in this event gave players that aren't in the lime light great exposure. Gerald Green started the contest off pretty well and then it just seemed to go down hill. Players missing dunks over and over again, judges giving out 10's for dunks that were not worthy. Pretty disappointing. But I will say in the end Terrance Ross of the Toronto Raptors put on a show. I loved his Vince Carter tribute and so did the fans making him this years Slam Dunk Champion.

AllStar Fashion

Not only will top players be showcasing their talent but their sense of style as well. Last night Russell Westbrook made a fashion statement as always. While coaching for the AllStar Celebrity game he wore a camel blazer, army fatigue trousers, a grey tie and yellow Jordan's to complete his look. He battled former teammate James Harden who was the coach for the opposing team. James Harden kept it simple and looked dapper in his blue on blue suit with a checkered bow tie.

AllStar Weekend 2013: BBVA Rising Stars Challenge

AllStar Weekend officially started last night with the BBVA Rising Stars Challenge. A game between the NBA's top rookies and sophomores split into two teams, Team Shaq and Team Chuck. As soon as I saw the rosters for each team I went for Team Shaq, who had 2 of the top young point guards Damian Lillard and Kyrie Irving. Well I think we were all pretty surprised to see Team Chuck dominate the entire game, by halftime they were leading with 24. Just about all the players for Team Chuck were in double figures. Great passes by Ricky Rubio and some nice dunks by rookie Alexey Shved. Kenneth Faried put on a great display of his talent finishing with 40 points and 10 rebounds, which earned him MVP. Though Team Shaq lost Kyrie Irving put on a show. Finishing with 32 points and some unbelievable ankle breaking crossovers as he went one on one with Brandon Knight. Though it was a blowout 163-135, it was a great game.

Miami vs Oklahoma City

If their could be any game I would want to see before the AllStar Break, it would be between the NBA's best. Last nights game, Miami at Oklahoma City was expected to be great. Unfortunately it fell short of great and was pretty much a blow out. The Heat completely dominated the game and maintained the lead throughout. Midway through the third quarter, Miami led by 23. Lebron James had another MVP worthy game finishing with 39 points and 12 rebounds. He came into this game becoming the first NBA player to score 30+ points shooting over 60% for 6 consecutive games. For the Thunder, their were only two players in double figures. Kevin Durant finished with 40 points but missed his first 7 shots in the 1st quarter and Oklahoma City continued to fall behind. Russell Westbrook had 26 points and 10 assist. The team struggled offensively only shooting about 23% from the 3-point line. Poor shot selection and not enough ball movement, settling for a lot of jumpers instead of taking their time to get off a good shot. Towards the end, Oklahoma City tried to get back in the game cutting Miami's lead to single digits, 108-100. But it wasn't enough, The Heat beat The Thunder 110-100.

Golden State Warriors New Jerseys

On February 11, The Golden State Warriors revealed their new short sleeve jerseys designed by Adidas. I guess they wanted to be a bit more trendy and try something new. The unique jerseys are said to be 26 percent lighter and made with recycled material. The fabric stretches all around which doesn't restrain movement in the arms and shoulders. The team is excited about the new look and they will wear them February 22nd when they play against the Spurs. I am not sure how I feel about the new jerseys. Visually it looks like they were designed for another sport. Unique indeed but why not revamp the original jerseys with the lighter fabric and leave it as a tank? It does give fans another option when purchasing team gear which is a plus, but I don't think this style is for the court.

Derrick Rose: His Return to the Bulls lineup...or Not

I think we all have been anticipating the return of superstar Derrick Rose to the Chicago Bulls line up. After suffering a torn ACL during the playoffs last season, he has been out rehabbing and working hard to get himself back to full health. Now with this season halfway done, is he ready to return ? Their has been a lot of speculation about him starting after the AllStar break. My initial thought was if he is ready and cleared to play, let him play. But with a injury of that magnitude it is probably best for him to be completely healed before returning. According to a statement made by Derrick Rose to USA Today, he knows he's not 110% and doesn't want to play until he is. So with that said their is no set date for his return. The Bulls have been doing very well in his absence, everyone has stepped up and at this rate they will be in the playoffs. I look forward to seeing Derrick Rose in the game soon.

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week: Robert Geller

As fashion week continues another designer has caught my eye, Robert Geller. His fall collection was inspired by the dark romantic Expressionist Era from Germany and it was very clear throughout. Absolutely loved his pants. They were creative made with gray twill, slim but not too skinny and just a touch of shine. Lots of layering, sweaters over button downs and knits over jackets. The color palette, shades of gray was the star, with a bit of color like plum and red. Sitting front row, the Knicks, Tyson Chandler and JR Smith along with his younger brother, free agent Chris Smith. I won't be surprise if they incorporate this effortless collection into their style this fall.

Cavaliers vs Nuggets: Denver, Championship Contenders

Can a team with no superstar make it to the finals ? Well the Denver Nuggets are definitely trying to become the first team in the world to win a championship without a single AllStar. After beating the Cavaliers last night, 111-103 the Nuggets have extended their winning streak to 9 games. As amazing as superstar Kyrie Irving is, Denver's defense was overpowering. Kyrie Irving played well led his team with 26 points but, got into foul trouble and sat out most of the 3rd. The Nuggets on the other hand took advantage. They had 8 players in double figures and Danilo Gallinari led the way with 19 points. In addition, they had 62 points in the paint and beat the Cavs 19-5 in fast break points. Denver also had 46 rebounds compared to Cleveland's 38. Denver got out in transition and stayed aggressive. I think they are well on their way to being top contenders for the championship.

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week 2013 : Richard Chai, Menswear

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week began 3 days ago. So far one of my favorite designers for men, Richard Chai. I loved how he showed both men and women collections together. His military inspired menswear stood out. Strong herringbone trench coats, exquisite tailoring, interesting tops and slim pants. The small details caught my eye, metallic stripes, gold on the shoulders and the use of gold thread. The collection was masculine, edgy but smooth and fresh.

Lakers vs Celtics

Two teams hit with major injuries and challenges, I had no idea how this game would turn out. Though the Celtics have won their last 6 without Rajon Rondo and promising rookie Jared Sullinger, how would the Lakers match up ? Well the lost of Pau Gasol out the next 6 weeks do to injury he sustained against the Nets, had a huge impact on LA. Despite the return of Dwight Howard and Kobe Bryant's 27 points, they lost 116-95. Bad ball handling and transition defense, not a good game for a team trying to make the playoffs. Their was a lot of talk about Dwight's shoulder injury and his lack of urgency to play. I think that every player should hustle and stay aggressive especially when faced with a challenge. Dwight is the only one who knows how much pain he is in and how to get through it. We can only hope that he uses all this speculation and turn it into motivation, to help the Lakers make the playoffs.

On the upside the Celtics played very well. Paul Pierce with 24 points and 7 rebounds, Jeff Green, impressive with 19 points. Big Congratulations to Kevin Garnett who became the 16th player in NBA history to score 25,000 in his career.

Lakers vs BKN: Road to the Playoffs.

The Lakers have faced alot of challenges this season. From a team that everyone thought would be unstoppable, to a team that is barely making the playoffs. But wait, after LA's performance last night against the Nets, they are obviously not giving up. With the absences of key players, Dwight Howard, Metta World Peace and losing Pau Gasol late in the 4th, the Lakers rallied together as a team for the win. The leader, Kobe Bryant had 21 points and 8 rebounds including a stellar dunk in the last 2minutes for the tie breaker. Also a great performance from Steve Nash, 17 points and 8 assist and Earl Clark with 14 points and 12 rebounds plus the jumper at the 1:11 mark to seal the deal. On the other side, the Nets didnt play as expected. Brooke Lopez lead the team in points and rebounds with 30 and 11. I wasn't impressed with Joe Johnson or Deron Williams, poor shooting, no hustle, no play making nothing. Great game overall, and I predict that will be seeing the Lakers in the playoffs.

Clippers vs Wizards: Lost without CP3

The lost of Chris Paul in the line up has definitely contributed to the Clippers struggles. Just when they thought it couldn't get any worse, Blake Griffin was out as well with a injury he suffered right before last nights game against the Wizards. Though Jamal Crawford scored 28 points along with DeAndre Jordan's career high 22 rebounds they were still lost. I believe the Clippers rely on Chris Paul to create shots and because of that, they have lost their last 7 of 9 games. Their was a glimpse of hope for LA, Eric Bledsoe contributed to an 11-0 run to bring the Clippers within 1. However they did not take care of the ball, managed 20 turnovers and 8 of them in the 4th. The Wizards took that as a chance to continue their good ball handling with only 12 turnovers. With Martell Websters 21 points, plus contributions from John Wall, Nene and the rest of the team the Wizards get the win, 98-90.

Spring Trends for Men

Spring is right around the corner, I've selected a few trends for you guys that will help elevate your style.
Go Pale!
Pale or "Easter egg" hues are a hit this spring. I would recommend mixing colors or using one color at a time. As seen on the runway, Hermes used pale yellows for their Spring '13 show. Give yourself a pop, don't be afraid to stand out.

Loafers Please
Ditch the sneakers for a day or two and add a pair of loafers to your look. Throw these on to upgrade your style, from work attire to a simple pair of jeans.

Don't forget your Blazer!
Throw on a blazer to enhance any look this spring. They go great with jeans, pants and even shorts. Men, don't be afraid to have fun with your style.

Rockets vs Bobcats: James Hardens first career triple double

One of the games I enjoyed last night, Bobcats vs Rockets. James Harden gets his first triple double 21:11:11 for the win,109-95. Bobcats played pretty well, Kemba Walker had 24 points and Ramon Session scored 20. However, the Rockets continued to beat the Bobcats in transition, scoring 28 fast break points. The game was pretty close in the fourth after the Bobcats were down 15, the score was 81- 80. Bobcats Michael Kidd Gilchrist suffered a head injury when going up for a rebound and was taking to a hospital in Houston, we hope he's ok and recovering. Good Game!

-@SarahTresChic15

OKC vs Cavaliers

Last night the Cavaliers were up against the team with the best road record in the NBA, Oklahoma City. This game had a lot of point guard vs point guard action, and Kyrie won. Kyrie Irving scored 35 points and the last 13 of the Cavs 15 points in the final 2 minutes to stun OKC, 115-110. He definitely proved why is his an All-Star this season. In addition it was a team effort, Marreese Speights had 21 points and Tristan Thompson contributed 12 rebounds. OKC's All-Stars played well of course, Kevin Durant had 32 points and 11 rebounds and Russell Westbrook, 28 points. Great Game!

3 Favorite Trends for Spring

Spring is on it's way and here are some of my favorite trends for the season:

Black and White
Designers for spring '13 have highlighted strong black and white looks. They are wearable all year round and affordable, great for the day and night.

Peekaboo Pieces
Dare to wear something sexy this spring. Dresses with Cutouts, show off your midriff, sheer fabric and of course splits.

Bold Stripes
I am a big fan of stripes and they are definitely in for spring. Big bold, simple but chic stripes.

Heat vs Pacers

I think we can agree that these two teams dislike each other. Indiana beat the heat again making them the 2nd team to beat Miami twice this season. David West led the way with 30 points and 7 rebounds. The entire team contributed. Indiana's great defense only made Miami more frustrated, hence the 3 different players and Spoelstra hit with technical fouls. Great match up nonetheless. Final 102- 89

-@SarahTresChic15

Rudy Gays Debute with the Raptors

After being traded from Memphis, Gay put on a great performance last night. Coming off the bench he scored 20 points along with a few rebounds, one of four players in double figures for Toronto. Final 98-73 Raptors.
