The Heat vs The Knicks: The Knicks Couldn't Cool off The Heat
Big game today in New York against Miami. After losing the first few games by as much as 20, The Heat were not trying to repeat the trend. They entered the game with a 13-game winning streak, and made it 14 by finally defeating The Knicks, 99-93. Miami was down double digits heading into the 3rd quarter thanks to Carmelo Anthony. He finished with 32 points and had a strong first half. Jason Kidd finally looked productive on the offensive end, knocking down four 3-pointers, 11 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assist. J.R. Smith had 13 points and 12 rebounds but didn't shoot to well from the field. After a slow start, The Heat found some rhythm in the second half. Lebron James led his team with, 29 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assist. Gave his team a scare after taking a fall following a shot, appeared to look injured which he quickly shook off. Lebron was pretty much unstoppable down the stretch. Dwayne Wade added 20 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assist. Another key player for Miami, Shane Battier who knocked down big 3's to help remove the double digit deficit. They pretty much controlled the last few minutes of the game. The Miami Heat now have the longest winning streak in the league at 14.
The Knicks 3-game winning streak ended today, now its off to Cleveland, as Melo & company take on the Cavaliers tomorrow night...Can The Heat continue their streak in Minnesota, or will Ricky Rubio and the Timberwolves extinguish the Miami's hot streak? We shall see.
