On Tuesday, March
26th, Carmelo Anthony and the Knicks traveled to Boston to face their rivals, the Celtics. In
that game, the Knicks scored 50 points in the paint, as they beat the Celtics,
100-85. Entering yesterday’s match up, New York had the opportunity to win the season
series against Boston for the first time since the 2003-04 season and extend their
winning streak to 8. And they did just that, took apart their division rivals,
as they beat the Celtics 108-89.
Last night, the
Knicks lived by the 3, scoring 14 of their 27 attempts, with 11 3’s in the
first half. They also had six players in double figures.Carmelo Anthony led the Knicks with, 24 points and 10
rebounds and Raymond Felton scored 18 points. Chris Copeland had a big game off the bench with 22
points. J.R Smith , who has averaged about 26 points during
the streak, only scored 15 points, but managed to grab 12
boards. For Boston , Jeff Green finished with 27 points and Paul Pierce had 24 points and 15 rebounds. The
Celtics were in need of the dominating Kevin Garnett who is still out with an ankle injury.
