Without their superstar and leader Kobe Bryant, the hopes of the lakers coming out on top against the Clippers looked slim to none. But young reserves put on a great performance, carrying the entire team with 76 points, to defeat Chris Paul and the Clippers 116-103.

The Clippers were shooting close to 60 percent and had a slight edge over the Lakers at the break, 57-55. The largest lead in the third quarter was 63-55. But during the final 12 minutes, the Lakers bench knocked down shots everywhere, outscored the Clippers 41-24. Xavier Henry led the bench with a career-high 22 points, Pau Gasol led the starters with 15. Jordan Farmar added 16, Jodie Meeks scored 13, Jordan Hill had 12, and Chris Kaman had 10. Steve Nash got much needed rest thanks to the production of the reserves. Meanwhile, Kobe Bryant watched his team in street clothes and looked impressed, smiling throughout the game.
