As a trainer in New York City, Stacy Daniels has made it his
goal to create a culture of elite basketball training. His dedication to the
rehabilitation and mission to build the future of various athletes, has made him
one of the most sought after trainers in the tri-state area. Stacy Daniels success in this field has led him to begin a new venture, clothing design. He sat down exclusively with HoopsandStyle.com to discuss Hooplyfe, a brand by ball players for ball players.

HoopsandStyle: Who is
Stacy Daniels?
Stacy Daniels: Once
an English major playing college football. My roommate became paralyzed and changed my life forever. I decided that my mission
in life was to help people by rehabilitation, so I decided to change my major
to Rehab. While a sophomore in college, I received my first certification to be
a trainer..My career in basketball training began.
HoopsandStyle: So
after much success in your company Two01Basketball Training, what inspired you to start
your own clothing line?
Stacy Daniels: While
playing basketball overseas, I realized that trying to find clothing was a huge
challenge. After much thought, in 2011 I developed the idea of designing my own style
of basketball apparel. I met with various artists to formulate the idea for the
logo and soon after finalized the logo in 2012.

HoopsandStyle: With
the logo complete, and a few samples made, tell me about the time Hooplyfe made
its first public appearance.
Stacy Daniels: Well, I decided to wear some of the pieces to a game at Gersh park. While there Andray Blatche of the Brooklyn Nets approached me and said, “I need that hat”. After
showing interest he wore a few pieces and even wore one of the shirts to Rucker Park where
he was playing.
HoopsandStyle:
Exciting! Now we know you’re taking care of the male athletes, what about the
ladies? Is the line limited to only male basketball players?
Stacy Daniels: Absolutely not, we are a clothing line
for both male and female athletes. Actually, Kia Vaughn, who plays in the WNBA, is a proud owner of a few Hooplyfe pieces.

HoopsandStyle:
Fashion, clothing design is a very competitive market. What sets Hooplyfe apart
from other athletic apparel?
Stacy Daniels: Originality
and creativity. What’s better than having an athlete like me, creating clothing
for other athletes? We keep our customers comfortable on and off the court at
an affordable price. We also give our customers the ability to customize shirts
and hats. In addition, we also design products for charity, breast cancer
awareness and more.
HoopsandStyle: What
is one of your favorite pieces from your collection?
Stacy Daniels: I
love the sleeveless hoodies. It’s perfect for the summer time and anyone with
tattoos like myself, you can easily keep cool while showing off your art work.
HoopsandStyle: Whats
next for you and Hooplyfe?
Stacy Daniels: Well we are going to launch HoopLyfe Tv,
a video blog dedicated to the culture of hooping and fashion all intertwined.
We are trying to develop a hooping culture that captures the ideal passion of
each players love for the game and how their individual fashion style makes
them unique on and off the court. For the brand, we are working on a Dri-fit concept
for training purposes. Also, brainstorming elite socks in collaboration with
Nike.

This is only the beginning for Hooplyfe as it continues to grow to become a national recognized athletic brand. An exclusive web store is in the works and will be up and running summer 2014, but for now Hooplyfe apparel is available here .
