Week 8: DDN SeanBall vs. R2K

Second game of the day between the undefeated DDN SeanBell and R2K.
 
As expected its been a testy competitive game from the start. DDN SeanBell is trying to go up 8-0, while R2K trying to hand them their first loss of the season. R2K shot almost perfectly in the 2nd quarter only missing one of their field goals (8-9). In addition they would make 4 key 3-pointers including a deep three at the buzzer at the end of the first. At the break R2K with the slight lead over DDNSeanBell 60-58. Justin Burrell and Mike Glover lead R2K with 13 and Zamall Nixon has 17 first half points.

What a second half! Both teams would exchange leads, and the winner would'nt be determined till the final couple of minutes. They would tie late in the fourth and each possession would be important once again. Although R2K would turn the ball over 5 times, key shots would put them over the leagues leaders. R2K gives DDN SeanBell their first loss of the season, 113-106. Former St.Johns star finished with 29 points, and TwoTwo for DDN SeanBell scored 30. 

Week 8: Rosedale Blazers vs. Team 914




 
 
Games taking place inside today and to kick off our Sunday, we have Team 914 against the Rosedale Blazers. Both teams are 3-3, so its a must win for either team. 
 
Rosedale got off to a good start but Team 914 continued to battle, to tie the game twice during the final two quarters. Team 914's three-point shooting would pull them ahead. Rosedale would still have a chance to come out on top, but missed key layups in the fourth. Team 914 led by Kirk who finished with 29 points, would go up 4-3. Kyle for the Rosedale Blazers ended with 20 points

Week8: Higher Ground vs. Silva All-Stars

 
Game 2 between Higher Ground and the Silva All-Stars has been a battle from beginning to the end. 

Down 1 with less than a little minute to go Higher Ground would grab a huge rebound. Once they gained possession they would be fouled to put them up 72-70. Four seconds to go, clutch shot by team Silva to tie the game at 72 a piece. All Star Cody for Higher Ground would knock down a two pointer giving them the lead. Higher Ground gets the victory 74-72. Scoring Leaders, Cody scored 19 points to lead his team to victory, while Aubin ended with 15.
 

Week 8: G2Ent/Team Bang vs. Team 914

 

Now with the playoffs slowly approaching us, final games are very critical. First game of the day is between Team 914 and Team Bang. Team 914 held onto the lead for the first half but costly turnovers in the third quarter would keep Team Bang in it. Very close game every possession important down the stretch.

Once in the fourth Team Bang would continue to fight. At the two minute mark, they would lose energy down 5. For the final 12 minutes, Team 914 would knock down most of their shots 12-18. Team Bang would lose, 78 69 practically knocked out of the playoffs. Kirk lead Team 914 with 25 points and Erving finished with 15 for Team Bang.

Week 7 DDN SeanBell vs G2Ent/ Team Bang

 
Second game of the day between undefeated DDN SeanBell and G2Ent/Team Bang. As expected DDN SeanBell off to a good start on 12-23 shooting, while Team Bang continued to struggle offensively. Down 31-46 after the first two quarters . 


 

DDN SeanBell put on a shooting clinic for the rest of the game, shooting at a high 70 percent. They remain undefeated with a blow out against Team Bang 115-65. Marv for scored a high 48 points in the victory over Team Bang, Barbosa would finish with 17.

Week7: R2K vs. Higher Ground

 
Great match-up between Higher Ground and R2K. Higher Ground coming off a big win last weekend gave R2K some trouble defensively but both teams are shooting around the same percentage, (R2K 10-20 and Higher Ground 11-25).  R2K went on a run after trailing early in the first quarter, but Higher Ground respond quickly with a quick few points including a 3-pointer to keep the game close. After two Higher Ground with a one point lead over R2K 54-53. Scoring leaders: Cody for Higher Ground with 15 and Dwight Hardy for R2K with 12.  

 
R2K looked as if they were going to close this game early with a 18 point lead in the third quarter. But Higher Ground would keep pushing to close the deficit and forced turnovers. Once in the fourth quarter they would only miss 5 of their 19 shots. With only a minute left in regulation, Higher Ground would tie the game at 105. Unfortunately their late push was not enough as they fall to R2K, 111-108. Scoring leaders: Dwight Hardy with a big 34 points and Pat for Higher Ground scored 24 points. Great Game

Week 6: Team 914 vs Skull Gang



Final game of the day between Skull Gang and Team 914. Once again both teams are shooting around the same percentage, however Team 914 has been able to take advantage of Skull Gangs turnovers and fouls. Team 914 with the lead hoping for a much needed win, 51-45. Kirk for Team 914 ends the first half with 25, Skull Gang's Jason leads his team with 14. 
 
Team 914 carried the momentum on to the next two quarters. Turnovers gave Skull Gang issues which tore apart their offense. This game belongs to Team 914, who was once 1-3, have now worked their way to 2-3. Team 914 over one of our tournaments leaders Skull Gang  108- 85. Impressive performance by Kirk with 30 points followed by Jason with 25 for Skull Gang. 

Week 6: Bk Stompers vs. G2ENT/Team Bang

 
 
Game 2 between Team Bang and the BK Stompers. Offensively both teams are shooting at a high percentage (on 15-25 shooting). While Team Bang dominates the offensive rebounds, the Bk Stompers are dominating on the defensive end. At the break, the BK Stompers with the lead 49-44. Scoring leaders: Kinu and Brent with 10 a piece of BK and 16 points by OJ for Team Bang. 

 
 
 
The BK Stompers continued to control the game the rest of the way. Team Bang's issue was their perimeter shooting, settling for too many three's instead of driving to the basket and trying to score in the paint. BK Stompers turned the ball over quiet a few times but made up for it by grabbing defensive rebounds. The game would end with the BK Stompers over Team Bang 108-93. Scoring leaders: Kinu with a high 32 points and OJ for Team Bang with 26. 


Week 6: Higher Ground vs Team OTR



 
 
Week 6 kicks off with the first game of the afternoon between Higher Ground and Team OTR. Higher Ground in need of another win, came out strong to start the first quarter with a early lead, on 10-16 shooting. Great offensive game to start but Team OTR would respond in the second quarter making 10 of their 24 attempts. Higher Ground dominated the defensive boards for the first 12 minutes which helped them maintain their lead. After two, Higher Ground has a one point advantage over Team OTR, 47-46. Scoring Leaders: Jamell Lynch has 12, Artie leads team OTR with 15. 
 
 
Down to the wire for the remainder of the game, both teams continued to battle. Largest lead wouldnt surpass 5 points thanks to both teams shooting around the same percentage. Tied 3 times in the fourth quarter, the final tie at 93 would send the game into overtime. Once in Overtime, Higher Ground would take over offensively, only slightly. They would finish the game with the victory over Team OTR 100-98.  Scoring Leaders: Jamell continues his hot shooting with 23, followed by Kenny Sat with 35 points.

Week 5: Team 914 vs. Silva All Stars

Final game of the day between Team 914 and the Silva All-Stars. Silva giving Team 914 a bit of a problem forcing plenty of turnovers. Silva continued to take advantage scoring in transition. Team 914 hustled for the rest of the quarter to stay close. The Silva All-Stars end the half with a 50-38 lead over Team 914. Aubin for Silva has 15 and Kirk has 13 for Team 914.


Team 914 didnt give up as they continued to fight throughout the rest of the game. They trailed by double digits for the first three quarters but the hustle paid off. Team 914 would take the lead for the first time midway through the fourth quarter. With three minutes left in the game the Silva AllStars would turn the ball over twice which resulted in 2 quick points to put Team 914 up six. That quickly, a change of events Team 914 gets the win 109-98. Scoring leaders, Aaron lead his team to victory with 35 points and EV for Silva ended with 24.

Week 5: DDN SeanBell vs. Skull Gang


 
 
Second game of the day between two teams that are currently undefeated, DDN SeanBell and Skull Gang. DDN SeanBell came out on fire with a 17-2 lead to start the quarter. Skull Gang struggled for most of the first half offensively and defensively. DDN SeanBell on the other hand got out fast in transition, forced turnovers, and got a few steals. After two, DDNSeanBell with a commanding lead, 63-44. Two Two led his team with 21 points and Quinton for Skull Gang has 14. 

 

Third quarter, Skull Gang fought their way back in the game and managed to cut the deficit to single digits. With time ticking away, DDN SeanBell had plenty of opportunities to create more space but couldnt knock dow free-throws down the stretch. Clutch free-throws by Two Two would seal the deal during the final seconds. DDN SeanBell remains undefeated with the victory 100-98. Scoring Leaders, Two Two finished with 32 big points while Will Pratt had 28 for Skull Gang.

Week 5: G2Ent/Team Bang vs. Higher Ground


 
 
First game of the day between Team Bang and Higher Ground.  Both teams are shooting around the same percentage ( 42%). However, Higher Ground has maintained a slight edge over Team Bang thanks to their freethrow shooting. They finish the second quarter with a 42-37 lead. Scoring leaders to end the first half, Jamel Lynch for Higher Ground with 16 and Taj for Team Bang with 12. 


 
 
During the third quarter, Team Bang tried to get back in the game but were out-rebound by Higher Ground. Team Bang ended the quarter down 54-63. In the fourth, Team Bang would get within 6 after a dunk by Ant but that would be the closest they would get. Struggled at the freethrow line and could not get any offense rebounds. Final: 90-78, Highergound over Team Bang. Scoring Leaders: Jamel Lynch ended with 26 and Taj for Team Bang finished with 25. Game!

Week 5: Higher Ground vs BK Stompers



 
 
Final game of the day between Higher Ground and the BK Stompers, both teams are in need of a win. The game started off the first pretty slowly. It took BK a few possessions to find something offensively. After a slow start BK would take the lead at the end of two, 38-34. Lo for BK led his team with 9 and Cody Moffett had 13 for Higher Ground. 

 
 Too much 3-point shooting by Higher Ground gave them issues, as they were unable to connect. Strong defense by the BK Stompers helped them maintain their lead. Higher Ground continued to battle and got with 5 with 40 seconds left in the game . After letting BK get within 5, they would pull out on top with the victory, 79-71. Scoring Leaders: Lo for BK finished with 19 point, Cody Moffett ended with 20 for Higher Ground. 

Week 5: Team OTR vs Silva All-Stars


 
 
First game of the day between Team OTR and the Silva AllStars. Silva got off to a quick start with a quick 10 points to start the game, but Team OTR quickly answered to end the first quarter with the lead. Once in the second quarter, Silva would turn the ball over too many times, allowing Team OTR to out score them.  At the end of two, Team OTR with the lead 58-47. Jeremy Hazell lead Team OTR with 21 points and EV for the Silva All-Stars had 16. 

 
 
After trailing in the second quarter, Silva kept battling and picked up their defense. Change of events and we would tie at 78 at the end of three. Team OTR allowed Silva to get back into the game by not taking care of the ball. Jeremy Hazell had a hot hand with 40 points for his team but it would'nt be enough, the Silva All-Stars would hold on for the win, 108-103. EV for Silva finished with 34 points.
