NBA
veteran Jason Collins reveals in a Sports Illustrated article that he is gay
and has become the first openly gay professional athlete. In the article
featured on sportsillustrated.com, he discusses his journey of self-discovery
throughout his life and 12 seasons in the NBA. He also talks about how revealing
his secret releases the burden he held for all these years, frighten by what
others would think.
I would
like to commend Jason Collins on his strength and courage. I urge all of my
readers to check out the article online, or in the May 6th issue of
Sports Illustrated.
